Panel 1

Dr. Angstrom is looking ahead of him, his fingertips touching and his expression thoughtful. He says, "Financial concerns lead you to worry about bad luck, your own health... Naturally, your concerns become expressed in these nightmares, emerging from your anti-conscious."

Zane answers, "But I don't believe in luck!"

Panel 2.

Zane sits up slightly and looks directly at Dr. Angstrom, his eyes wide open as he says "I've just noticed certain patterns in my life. And I do things to stay on the right side of them."

Panel 3.

Dr. Angstrom is shown in profile, and his eyes are closed behind his glasses. He says "So you believe you wouldn't have seen a skeleton if you'd have done things 'right'?"

Zane sits up and looks to the side, his expression evasive. He says "When you say it like that it makes me sound crazy."

Panel 4.

Dr. Angstrom leans back in his chair, looking up and touching his finger to his chin, and says "We psychoanalysts never use the crude term 'crazy'. You may merely suffer from type 3 psychomaniac derangement, which presents as craziness."

Panel 5.

Dr. Angstrom is off the screen except for his crossed legs and his notebook. He says "All nothing to be ashamed of, Mr. Zane! You are telling me so we may cure you of these silly superstitions."

Zane is sitting up on the couch, holding his head in his hands and gritting his teeth.

Panel 6.

Zane looks worried as he gestures towards Angstrom and says "I'm an encyclopedia man, Dr. Angstrom. A man of science, not superstition. I've found behaviors that improve circumstances in my life! Like a scientist would!"

Panel 7.

Dr. Angstrom is off the screen except for his crossed legs and his notebook. He says "And these behaviors protect you from ghosts."

Zane answers "YES!", waving his hands and looking frustrated.
