- Panel 1
All three of the Bottlefly Boys are seated at the bar and looking directly at Zane. They're all squinting and smiling widely, Maurice holding his glass and the other two with theirs sitting in front of them on the bar. Maurice says "You and Iris have been *awful chummy* since you came to town! Isn't she a little young for you, Wadsworth? *Haw haw!*" All through this strip, the background for Maurice's speech bubbles is a light peach color, while Zane's is the usual white.
- Panel 2.
Zane, shaking all over and holding up his hands in front of them, looks anxious and says "I -- Gentlemen, you misunderstand me! I have *no* interest in her, romantic or otherwise --" Maurice interrupts, "*Haw haw haw! Lookit his face!"
- Panel 3.
Maurice says "We're just *ribbing* you, Zane! Haven't you ever had a night out with the guys *back home*?" Zane, looking a little more calm but rather dismayed, says "To be honest, I wasn't quite drinking *age* when Prohibition began --" Maurice says "*Haw haw!* *Now* who's too young?" Zane's glass is in front of him, more full than those of the Bottlefly Boys, and the bat is hanging from its perch inside of its cage next to Zane.
- Panel 4.
The Bottlefly Boys are all smiling and looking relaxed, not looking as intently at Zane as they were in the first panel. Morris is taking a drink and Maris is looking off to the side, smiling. Maurice says "Trust us, Wadsworth. It's all in good fun. You seem like a nice guy who needs to get *out* more. There's such a thing as getting *too* set in your old ways!"
- Panel 5.
Zane looks down thoughtfully and says "That's actually not the first time I've heard someone tell me that." Maurice asks "And what do you say to *that*?"
- Panel 6.
Zane grabs his glass with both hands and takes a huge gulp, closing his eyes. Maurice looks startled but happy as Zane says "I guess I say... *The next round's on me!*"
