The background is white.

Panel 1

Zane walks down the stairs of the library, one cheek bulging comically as if he's taken a deep breath and is letting it out slowly. Mercy is flying behind him. He says "I didn't sleep at all last night! Maybe we should try to catch forty winks, Mercy." At the foot of the stairs, by the sidewalk in front of the library, is a wooden bench.

Panel 2.

Zane lies down on the orange bench, face up, his eyes closed. Mercy is lying next to his head, her head resting on one wing and her eyes closed.

Panel 3.

A shadow falls over Zane's head, and he opens one eye, his surprise indicated by small white lines coming from his face. Mercy opens her eyes too. A voice from offscreen says "You know what they say about napping in the sun?" In this panel, the bench has a more reddish color to it, and the library in the background is more cool-colored than it was in the previous panel.

Panel 4.

The speaker is Planchett, wearing a thistle on his lapel. He looks down at Zane, his eyebrows knitted and a smug look on his face. He continues, "Ya might wake up *burned*." Zane answers "Is that really a saying?" Planchett says "*Probably.*"

Panel 5.

Planchett closes his eyes and looks superior, saying "Kid, I gotta hand it to you. You earned my *respect*. You seem to have everyone around here *snowed* with your gee-whiz act, but *I* know the score."

Panel 6.

Zane, sitting up, looks at him angrily, one eyebrow raised, and says "It's not an act. I really *say* that sometimes." Planchett answers, "Easy, chief! I said you're in the clear!"

Panel 7.

Planchett smiles knowingly at Zane and says "Osgood gave it to me straight. He's making sure you're on the books as the antique shop owner. You're a businessman in Broodhollow now, like your uncle was."

Panel 8.

Planchett turns and walks away, his expression smug. He says "Guess we'll see you tonight." Zane stands up and watches him go, his mouth open and short lines coming from his head to indicate his surprise.
