- Panel 1
Iris, her brows drawn together and her teeth gritted, looks down at the ground as she raises the frying pan over her head. Zane's arms are out to his sides, and his eyes are shut tight and his teeth gritted. The background is a lurid, bright red, and the two of them are colored with vibrant colors and heavy shadows.
- Panel 2.
Iris, her eyes squeezed shut, swings the frying pan down in front of her. Zane looks down, his teeth gritted, and lifts one knee to his chest. The reader cannot see what is at their feet, but between the two of them is a splash of dark brown.
- Panel 3.
Iris, her brows drawn together and her teeth gritted, looks down at the ground as she raises the frying pan over her head. Whatever the brown splash might be, it is not blood, as her forearms are unstained. Zane brings his foot down sharply, his arms out to his sides, his eyes shut tight and his teeth gritted. The background is still red, but slightly less bright.

Iris, her eyes squeezed shut, swings the frying pan down in front of her. Zane looks down, his teeth gritted, and lifts one knee to his chest. There is a splash of dark brown between them, but it is lighter than it was the previous time it appeared. The background, as well, is fading into a bright pink.
- Panel 5.
Iris, her brows drawn together and her teeth gritted, looks down at the ground as she raises the frying pan over her head. Zane brings his foot down sharply, his arms out to his sides, his eyes shut tight and his teeth gritted. The background is now a light pink, several shades lighter than the red of the first panel, and Zane and Iris are colored in a less intense way as well. The panels are divided into three rows, and this one marks the end of the first row. Behind the panel, the black of the background is starting to turn into a dark grey.
- Panel 6.
Iris, her eyes squeezed shut, swings the frying pan down in front of her. Zane looks down, his teeth gritted, and lifts one knee to his chest. The splash of dark brown appears darker this time than it did in panel 4, but the background is continuing to fade into pink, and it is clear that there is a stripe pattern on the wallpaper, which is torn away in places. As this is the first panel on the second row, the background is mostly black, but towards the right it is starting to fade into a dark grey.

- Panel 8.
Iris, her eyes squeezed shut, swings the frying pan down in front of her. Zane looks down, his teeth gritted, and lifts one knee to his chest. The splash of brown seems lighter in this panel than it did in the others, and the background color is turning into a grayish pink. Behind the panel, it's clear that the background is becoming much lighter.
- Panel 9.
Iris, her brows drawn together and her teeth gritted, looks down at the ground as she raises the frying pan over her head. Zane brings his foot down sharply, his arms out to his sides, his eyes shut tight and his teeth gritted. The details of the background become more evident, with planks of broken wood and a brick wall mostly covered by the striped wallpaper.
- Panel 10.
Iris, her eyes squeezed shut, swings the frying pan down in front of her. Zane looks down, his teeth gritted, and lifts one knee to his chest. There is only the faintest wisp of brown between them. Their coloring is only slightly shaded now, and behind the panel the background is grey, fading to white at the bottom right hand corner.
- Panel 11.

Zane brings his foot down sharply, his arms out to his sides, his eyes shut tight and his teeth gritted. The wallpaper appears to be stripes of dark grey and light pink, and as this is the first panel of the third row, the background is black at the top and a light grey at the bottom.

- Panel 13.

Iris, her eyes squeezed shut, swings the frying pan down in front of her. Zane looks down, his teeth gritted, and lifts one knee to his chest. The splash of brown is entirely gone, and the wallpaper has only the slightest pink tinge to it.
- Panel 15.
Iris, her brows drawn together and her teeth gritted, looks down at the ground as she raises the frying pan over her head. Zane brings his foot down sharply, his arms out to his sides, his eyes shut tight and his teeth gritted. The pink and red tones of the wallpaper are entirely gone, leaving dark and light grey stripes, and Iris and Zane are colored in the usual flat style. The background is almost entirely white.
